Race report by Reno Savoya
Held in Reding, in North East of France near Strasbourg, the 3rd round of french national offered again some muddy racing! Everything started great on Saturday with a dry track after a few rounds of practices. It was decided to cancel one round of practices in order to allow 4 rounds of qualifications.

The track was really technical with big off-camber where you had to keep the inside or it would push you way outside! I managed to TQ the controlled practices, and had a really good feeling with the car since the first practice. I started with my basic setup and it worked sweet directly. Has the track was still very smooth, I opted for 4 stripes springs in the front to give less dive in off-cambers. As the track was getting bumpier, I went back to 3 stripes that gave me more grip and better stability in bumps.

I made a very clear and flawless Q1, but a loop problem forced us to race it again. The rain occurred just before our race. Unfortunately, I did a wrong tyre tread choice, I couldn't get the TQ I previously had.

I then TQed round 2 and 4, in perfectly dry conditions. With the best 2 rounds counting, I qualified 2nd, tied on points with Jerome Aigoin.

On Sunday, the weather was even worth as the wind was blowing! Felt temperature was around 0°C! It was very hard conditions for racing! We ran the semis in muddy conditions, some of the cars weighting more than 6kg after the 20 minutes! Even in those conditions, I still had a very good feeling with the car, tires and engine, which allowed me to still jump everything on the track and win my semi without any mistake!

After the semi, the rain was quite strong and the organizers took the decision, in accordance with the drivers, to stop the race after the semis. As the rulebook says, the classification should be made with the times of the semis. Great with for me and my XB9 2013, which give me entire satisfaction at every race!
